Last weekend was extra busy at Headstone Tennis Club with not one, but two tournaments.
Table Tennis Tournament
On Friday 5th October, the social committee hosted a Table Tennis Tournament as part of our Friday night social events. This event was a great success and enjoyed by all who attended, so definitely something we will do again soon.
As well having a great turnout it was a really fun night for adults and juniors alike. It was great to see some of the older juniors playing confidently against the adult members.
The atmosphere was very relaxed and enjoyable but there was definitely a few tense moments as the final rounds were played. Our worthy winner was Toby Deal who was awarded with a trophy for his valiant effort. Runner up was Anthony Freely.
Specials thanks to Terry Baldwin and Dave Charman who organised and adjudicated on the night.
Norman Plate Tournament
On Sunday 7Th October, the Norman Plate tournament was held in memory of Julia Ginger’s parents with funds raised being split between two charities, Cancer Research UK & The Alzheimer’s Association.
Julia kindly donated a full breakfast buffet which was enjoyed by everyone. The weather was definitely on our side too and it was a lovely sunny morning!
Congratulations to the winners of the tournament, Girish Shah and Culrain Ofori.
