It was with a great amount of pleasure that we welcomed back our members to the Headstone Tennis Club’s Championships Finals Day on 04 September 2021. We have had few Social occasions for the club to enjoy over the last year and a half and it was really heart-warming to see so many members support the Club for this event.
It was a very busy day with a Macmillan coffee morning with a record amount of£1030 raised! Thank you to all who contributed to such a worthy cause.
We hosted our famous BBQ lunch to satisfy appetites throughout the day too making sure everyone was well fed!
Thank you to the catering team – Julia, Susan, Carrie Sarah, Miranda and Sandra-Lee for all their hard work throughout the day in keeping us sustained. Also to Matt, Ben and Phil on the Bar which was equally well supported of course!!
The tennis was rather good too involving Junior and Adult finals! Congratulations to all the finalist – a great feat to make it to Finals Day and to allow the spectators to witness great tennis!
Thank you to Anthony and the Ground Maintenance team for preparing the courts so well for this day. Also thanks to the umpires who volunteered their time to keep our Finalists happy.
We managed to get through the day with the weather behaving itself too. We couldn’t blame any wayward shots on sun or wind!
Thank you again to those who supported the event. It was a really lovely coming- together moment and an opportunity for members to catch up with each other which has been sorely missed recently. We are a members club and rely on the support of our members to make these events happen and create these special moments for all of us to share.
