Thinking about playing tennis in Harrow? Here are the questions we are asked most often about Headstone Tennis Club. If your question is not answered below, email me********@********************co.uk and someone on the committee will get back to you.
Joining the club
Can I try the club before I join?
Yes — a visit can easily be arranged. Get in touch and we will invite you along to a session where you can meet members and use the courts and facilities. The club also holds several open days through the year, and you are welcome to contact us at any time. Email me********@********************co.uk to arrange a visit.
How much does membership cost?
For the 2026/27 season, adult senior membership is £380 a year, and there is a first-year introductory rate of £290 for new adult members. Junior membership (11–18) is £115, cadet membership (10 and under) is £70, and non-playing social membership is £35. There are also reduced rates for 19–24 year olds, over 65s, weekday-only members and parents playing with their children. The full list is on our Club Membership page.
Is there a discount for my first year?
Yes. New adult members pay an introductory rate of £290 for their first year, instead of the full £380 senior rate.
How do I join?
Email our membership secretary at me********@********************co.uk. The membership form for the current season is linked from the Club Membership page.
Playing at Headstone
Do I have to be a member to play?
The courts are for members and their guests. Coaching is run by our qualified coaching team — see our Tennis Coaching page for what is available and how to book.
How many courts are there?
Five all-weather courts, two of which have floodlights. They are available all year round.
Can I play in the evenings and through the winter?
Yes. Two courts are floodlit for evening play, and floodlight use is included in your membership at no extra charge. The courts are all-weather, and the club runs organised sessions, coaching and competitive tennis right through the winter, including three winter leagues.
How do I book a court?
Members book courts through the LTA ClubSpark booking system, which is linked from the top of every page on this site.
Coaching
I have never played before. Is there something for me?
Yes. The coaching programme covers everyone from complete beginners to competitive players, and includes adult beginner and improver sessions for people new to tennis or returning after many years away. See Tennis Coaching.
Do you offer adult coaching?
Yes — adult beginner and improver sessions as well as one-to-one private lessons. Current times, availability and booking are on our Tennis Coaching page.
Do you coach children?
Yes. There is junior group coaching for all ages and abilities, alongside junior teams and club competitions. See Tennis Coaching and Junior Competitive Tennis.
Do you run holiday camps?
Yes. Holiday camps run during the school holidays. Dates, ages and booking are confirmed before each holiday on our Tennis Coaching page.
Who is the coach?
Our coaching team is David Emms, Director of Coaching, and Elizabeth Norman, an LTA Level 3 coach. They run the junior and adult programmes, one-to-one lessons and holiday camps. You can read about them, and see the full programme and book, on our Tennis Coaching page.
